Buckingham, Winslow and District Explorer Scouts Spain Trip 2003
We took two routes to getting to Spain the DESC(District Explorer Scout Commissioner), and Winslows Explorer Scout Leader and their family went one way, and the other Leaders another
- Friday 18th July
DESC set off by car on very early in the morning to catch the 9:30am Ferry from Dover to Calais and Drove half way down France
Explorers/other Leaders went to work or School
- Saturday 19th July
DESC Drove the rest of the way to the camp site and found it (Eventually)
Explorers/other Leaders had a lay in ! , Did some packing - Sunday 20th July
DESC explored the Camp site and Ainsa
Explorers/other Leaders had another lay in ! , finished packing and set Alarm clocks for 3am - Mon 21th July AM (early)
Explorers/Other Leaders woke up early to be at Luton Airport for a 5:00am Check-in
DESC sets off for Barcelona Airport and meets the Explorers at about 10:30am (After a trip round Barcelona ring road)
- Mon 21th July (9:00am ish) Somewhere over the Bay of Biscay
I'd like to claim the record of highest investiture - Emma was invested at 30,000 feet - Mon 21th July (11:30am )
After 1/2 hour in the queue for hire vehicles, we are off in a 9 seater Merc, a 5 seater Vaxhall Vectra ,a 5 seater VW Bora and the DESC's car - Mon 21th July (4:00pm)
After a long Journey (Not getting lost once, just not being sure where we were), frighten the hell out of the other other drivers with the route from Ainsa to the campsite (see Location for Details)
