The name Phoenix, really came about because the the District Explorer Scout Commisioner was fed up of saying 'Buckingham, Winslow and District, District Explorer Scout Unit'

Once we decided to choose a name the following happened

1. A Web page was created to get suggestions for a name
2. The Explorer Scout Leaders choose 8 to be a short list
3. The Explorer Scouts Voted to choose the name

The winner of the vote was Phoenix Explorer Scout Unit

Since chooseing 'Phoenix Explorer Scout Unit' as a name we have added a few items
