Duke of Edinburgh's Award (D of E)
As part of Achieving the Platinum, Diamond and Queens Scout Award it is possible to take 2 different routes you can either do
The Scout Challenges for that level
or
Complete the D of E Award (D of E Bronze = Platinum, D of E Silver = Diamond etc).
BUT what do you need to do to start D of E ?
Register for the Award
- Well first thing that needs to happen is you need to be registered for D of E at the right level (BRONZE/SILVER/GOLD)
- But if you are already registered (Through School or Youth Club) you don't need to do this
- To Register Download this Form fill the top part in return the form to your Explorer Scout Leader
- Once you are registered you will receive a handbook telling you all about the award
- D of E is Broken down into sections
- Service
- Skills
- Physical Recreation
- Expedition
- Residential (Gold only)
- Basically for each of the sections you have to do the following
- Decide and plan what you are going to do
- Agree your plan with your Explorer Scout Leader/(Assessor)
- Carry out your plan undertaking any required Training or Practice for the required time
- Have a review/assessment with your Explorer Scout Leader/(Assessor)
- Speak to your Explorer Scout Leader - they may not be able to help immediately but will no someone who can
